Professional Development

ICEE believes in providing teachers with the support they need to continue their education and professional studies. Therefore, we offer professional development hours for each course in the Certificate Program.

Continuing education units (CEUs) are based on the standard that one CEU is earned for every 10 contact hours (professional development = 15 hours)  of participation in an organized continuing education experience. Each CEU course at ICEE consists of fifteen contact hours (90 total for 6 courses).  CEUs cannot be converted into academic credit. It is the student's responsibility to confirm whether or not CEUs earned at ICEE  will be accepted by employers and/or applicable licensing agencies.

Although these courses are accepted by some state departments of education toward professional development & endorsements, this may not be the case in all states. Please check with your own department of education and your school district for applicability. Transferability of credit is at the discretion of the accepting institution. It is the student's responsibility to confirm whether or not credits earned  will be accepted by another institution of the student's choice.
